When I was five, I wrote on my "About Me" poster for school that I wanted to be Claude Monet when I grew up. I don't think any other 5 year old in my class knew what that meant. I tortured* my household of left-brainers with 20 years of dance, 8 years of cello, and enough drawing and painting to fill half the basement.
*My parents would like me to include a disclaimer here that I never tortured them with my excessive artistic endeavors, and that is true. They were nothing less of supportive of their overly ambitious and rebellious child.
Eventually, I abandoned the dream of being a french impressionist painter with failing eyesight and pursued a career in design.
Now, I am passionate about nurturing functionality and knowledge through strategy, beauty, and an empathetic understanding of the forever evolving world around us. I believe the process is more important than the end result. I believe good design is informed design.
I have experience concepting, directing and executing work for print, video and digital media. I strive to build positive, collaborative and valuable relationships. I am a fan of thinking 'wrong.'
When I am not thinking of left field ideas you will probably find me walking my dog, Meatball, enjoying live theater, continuing my ongoing quest to find the best lavender latte in the city, babysitting (seriously, I love it) or watching college basketball.
Wanna be friends? Or coworkers? Drop me a line. We can get coffee.
